Final Details

First of all thank you to everyone who came yesterday for the dress rehearsal. It was very interesting to switch to such a smaller stage and make it all work.

Here are the details for this week and our performances:

Wednesday there is going to be a rehearsal for just the musicians at 7 pm. There isn't any other mutual that night, but since we only had half of our group yesterday, we felt it would be good to get together one more time before the final performances.

Saturday is the big day! We need to meet at Timberline at noon in full make up and hair. Boys can have help with make up at the church if you need, but girls need to do their own hair and make up before you get there. You will need to quickly change into your costumes in your assigned dressing room. We are in the the three rooms that are the southwest corner of the building. Only one of the doors is labeled with our ward, but we have the two that are next to it. I will put up signs so that you know which room is the boys and which is the girls. You will be changing in that room, not the bathrooms. I will bring a couple of screens to help with privacy.

We will be watching the other shows, sitting in the front of the gym, until the show right before ours. The matinee shows start at 1 pm and will go until 4 pm (or longer). In the matinee we are in the 6th position, so we are right after Lone Tree.

In between the matinee and the final show, the stake is bringing in pizza for dinner. If you can't eat pizza, make sure you bring something to eat. We are not leaving the building in between shows, since there isn't much time.

The final show starts at 6 pm and will go till at least 9 pm. We need to be ready by 5 pm with any make up and hair touch ups. In the evening show we are 9th following Castle Rock.

The awards will be presented after the final show. After the awards, we need to clean up our green rooms, as well as sweep up the confetti, so be prepared to stay late that night. Make sure that you take home any costumes or props that belong to you.

Thank you to everyone for all the hard work that you have put into this show. I really think we have a good show and that is due to all of you!

Schedule for our final rehearsal week.

Wednesday:

Musicians need to be there at 6:30 pm and ready to go (in other words, if you need to set up, try to get there a bit earlier). Everyone else needs to be ready in costumes by 7:15 at the latest for our rehearsal. We will be going till 8:30 pm.

Saturday:

We will be meeting at 2:45 at the church for our final dress rehearsal. Everyone needs to be there and ready to go. This is so we can get into costumes and run through it before we head up to Timberline building for our last rehearsal and only time on the real stage. Our Timberline time is 4:30 but we need to be there no later than 4:15 pm. This includes all leaders and anyone else involved with the show. We should be done by 5:15 pm.

That's it, except to note on your calendars that we need to be at the Timberline building next Saturday (the 10th) by noon. This is our performance day, so we will be there for the matinee, dinner, the evening performance and awards. In other words, plan on being there the entire day and night.

Updates for this week.

There are more changes to the cast, and hopefully these will be the last.

Kylie T. is our new tambourinist (thanks to her mad percussion skills)!
Jacob N. is the Swimmer Boy
Jacob R. is going to be our Love Boat Crew Member

Also, we will be changing the scenes around so that the Brady Bunch is last instead of the Donny and Marie Show.

Musicians need to plan on being there tonight and next week at 6:30 pm for your extra rehearsal time.

We are running through the final dance number first tonight, as well as going over all costume, hair and make-up plans tonight. Please bring your costume and props and work with the leaders on establishing your final look.

We only have two more rehearsals after tonight before the big show, so come ready and excited.

You all truly "Blow Your Own Horns" up there on stage and it is groovy working with all of you!

The changes never cease...

First of all, I wanted to say what a fantastic job you all did on Wednesday! I was impressed that we put things together and that so many of you were prepared and into it. Thank you!!

Secondly, there are more changes to the cast. Carson B. will be the Swimmer Boy now, since he did such a smashing job on Wednesday. Jacob N. will be on the tech crew. Tenya is going to be back on as a Y Singer and Haley will be on tech for hair and make-up. Mitchell will be part of our tech crew as well.

Sister Rolfson is now in charge of our costumes, so contact her with any questions.

I think that is all that I have for now, but there are still some other things in the works, so keep checking. Also, please get costumes and bring them ready next Wednesday. We really need to see where we are at. If you can't find anything, look for some old jeans you would be willing to turn into 70's pants and bring them.

Thank you again for all of your hard work!

And More Changes...

So we are moving things around again. Here are the updates to the cast:

Tenya is our tambourinist
Ester is our guitarist
Aubine is Alice
Simone is a Y Singer
Josh K. is Mike Brady
Jacob N. is Swimmer Boy

Also, rehearsals officially start next Wednesday, so know your lines and music and be ready to run through the whole show. Musicians need to bring their instruments and if you haven't brought a costume yet, bring that next week. Back stage people will be organizing things as well so we can get things together.

Thank you to everyone tonight for being so positive about this process. It's going to be Far Out!!

Treats for Bloggers

So I have decided to have a weekly check in of this blog. There is a lot of communication that has to be done and this is the easiest way.

Here is where it gets good. Each person that comes up to me and can tell me what is on the blog each week will get a treat from me. You can do this either on Wednesday or Sunday.

How easy is that?!

Costumes and Cast Changes

We have a couple of changes to the cast. First of all Lexie G. will be a Charlie's Angel, I believe Jill. Secondly Kylie T. will be Cindy Brady.

We need all the youth to look in their own/parents/grandparents' closets and find themselves costumes to fit their part. We have a very limited budget, so will need to save it for the "impossible to find" things. Please bring your costume with your name in it on Wednesday, so Sister Dalton can look and see what we have.
